All Manichem pharmacies offer NHS Prescription Dispensing with the opportunity to talk to a Pharmacist discreetly about your medication and any queries or concerns you may have.

Prescription charges in the UK (Excluding Wales)

In the UK, prescriptions are charged per item. As of 1st April 2012 each item costs:

■ England - £7.65

Prescription charges in Wales.

NHS prescription charges in Wales were abolished from 1st April 2007. You are entitled to free prescriptions in Wales if you are:

■ a patient registered with a Welsh GP and you receive your prescription from a Welsh pharmacy
■ a Welsh patient who has an English GP and an entitlement card and you receive your prescriptions from a Welsh pharmacy

Pre-Payment Certificates

If you are not entitled to free prescriptions and have ongoing repeat prescriptions, a Pre-Payment Certificate (PPC) may save you money, especially if you have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months.

PPCs in England
A 3-month PPC costs £29.10 and a 12-month PPC costs £104.00.

You can purchase a PPC:

■ online at https://www.ppa.org.uk/ppa/ppcdd/patient.do
■ by phoning 0845 850 0030
■ from selected pharmacies, ask your pharmacist for more information

Ask your local Manichem Pharmacist about how you can get a PPC.
